The Registry of Pollutant Emissions and Transfers (RETCE) is Mexico’s database used for tracking industrial emissions and transfers in Mexico. To date, the published data covers the period from 2004 to 2024. However, accessing this data is somewhat difficult because it is published in separate files, and the only way to view everything is through the SEMARNAT website.

For this reason, I set out to build a small dashboard in streamlit to make it easier to search and visualize the registry reports. Although the data is quite messy, I hope to eventually consolidate names and other details until the data is clean.

It’s important to note that the registry has many limitations, but that’s a topic for another post.
